Introduction to Legacy and Leadership
Established on August 31, 2009, Excel Business College began in Handigaun and relocated to Lakhechaur later that same year to better serve our growing student body. Affiliated with Pokhara University, our institution is dedicated to delivering advanced business and technology education.
Our academic growth has been strategically paced to meet the evolving demands of industry and society:
- Fall 2009: Launched our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program.
- Fall 2013: Introduced the BBA in Banking & Insurance (BBA-BI).
- Spring 2017: Expanded into graduate studies with the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
- Fall 2024: Added two advanced undergraduate programs: BBA in Finance and Bachelor of Computer Science & Information Technology (BCSIT).

Excel Business College, affiliated with Pokhara University, offers Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Administration-Finance (BBA-F), and Bachelor of Computer System and Information Technology (BCSIT) programs.

Our Principal
Mr. Kiran R. Shakya is a seasoned academician and administrator with extensive experience in education, computing, and management. He has been actively involved in Nepal’s academic sector, contributing as a lecturer, administrator, and program leader in various prestigious institutions. Currently serving as the Principal of Excel Business College, he oversees academic programs, faculty coordination, and institutional growth.
Mr. Shakya holds a postgraduate degree in Management (Master in Commerce) from Tribhuvan University. With a strong background in IT and business management, he has played a key role in curriculum development, faculty training, and quality assurance for higher education programs. His expertise spans across multiple domains, including academic administration, program validation, and student placement. Beyond academia, Mr. Shakya has a rich professional history in computing, having developed and implemented software solutions for renowned organizations in Nepal. His leadership in IT education and digital transformation has helped shape modern learning methodologies.

Our Principle
Mr. Shakya has been teaching general management subjects in undergraduate and graduate degrees at Nepalese universities/colleges since 2001. Currently, he is working as a Principal and Faculty Member at Excel Business College.
He has completed MBA and MPhil in Management from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He also pursued an MBA from the University of Greenwich, UK. He learned the European standards of business and management education and research training in contemporary issues of Business Administration and Management during his study at Greenwich University.
He has also acquired knowledge and Research Skills in Intellectual Property Rights, including WIPO and WTO roles in addressing global challenges and policies such as climate change, agriculture and food security, public health, and trade-related aspects of Intellectual Property Rights from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His career objective is to become a good academician, consultant, and researcher in the field of Business Administration, Management, and Intellectual Property Rights. He has attended and presented research papers at national and international conferences. He has also a wide range of publications in national and international journals.

Our Resources and Facilities
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Excel Business College organizes a wide range of extracurricular activities to promote holistic development among its students. Various games such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Football, and Cricket are regularly conducted to encourage physical fitness and teamwork.
COMPUTER LAB
Excel Business College is well equipped with the state-of-the-art teaching technology. It has a well managed computer lab with sufficient desktop computers. We have been using multimedia gadgets for our classroom teaching. Twenty four hour internet facilities are available for the Excel community.
LIBRARY
The library has sufficient number of basic books (textbooks) and reference books. Books are loaned to the students and the teaching faculty. The availability of selected national and international journals, study reports, audio video CDs, periodicals, newspaper and other reference materials serve as value addition to our library service and documentation center.
CANTEEN
Excel Business College takes pride in its well-maintained and spacious canteen, which provides a clean and comfortable environment for students and staff. The canteen serves a wide variety of hygienic and freshly prepared meals, snacks, and beverages at affordable prices throughout the day.
POWER BACK-UP
To address the issue of power shortages and load-shedding in classrooms and the computer lab, Excel Business College has installed a 20 KVA generator. This ensures an uninterrupted power supply, allowing academic and technical activities to continue smoothly without any disruptions.
